>Engage works is back for a day of FREE creative workshops and   discussions with opportunities to meet and connect with other local creatives and representatives of cultural organisations,

to reflect on your own practice and journey and to have your say on the future of creative leadership in Norwich. All that and lunch too. We are very grateful to the National Centre for Writing for hosting the event at their wonderful venue:

Engage Works will run from 10am – 3pm on Saturday the 5th November with a programme of activity which is set out below. Please note that some creative sessions are repeated to give you a chance to do both on the day.

10.00 – 10.10
Welcome and introductions, Great Hall

10.10 – 11.00 (Session 1)
Introduction to Puppetry, Great Hall
Get hands-on with Norwich Puppet Theatre to learn the basics of puppetry and have fun. (capped at 30)

JMCAnderson I AM workshop, Wolfson Room
Learn more about Jade’s practice and take part in a workshop exploring identity.

Poetry Workshop, Freeman’s Education Space
Join Local poet Shannon Marie Copeland to learn more about poetry and write your own!

11.05 – 12.00 (Session 2)
Introduction to Puppetry, Great Hall
Get hands-on with Norwich Puppet Theatre to learn the basics of puppetry and have fun. (capped at 30)


Creative Arts East hosting Flock, Wolfson Room
Join CAE as they present the team of artists currently working on an exciting commission. Learn more about their process, the final event and what’s next for the Flock network.

EmpowerHER, Freeman’s Education Space
New Routes group EmpowerHER will be leading a creative workshop, reflecting and raising awareness on the challenges faced by women in school and how these issues are also present in creative careers.

12.00 – 13.00
Lunch
Featuring performance from local artist Maple Ward. Food kindly provided by Norwich School.

13.00 – 13.50 (Session 3)
Young Creatives Panel, Great Hall
Join 3 local young creatives working across different sectors to hear about their journey, top tips and an opportunity to ask them questions.

Learn more about what Norwich is doing to support Young people as well as future plans and exciting opportunities coming up for Young Creatives.


2.00 – 2.50 (Session 4, final session)
Looking Forward, Zine Workshop, Great Hall
For the final session of the day, zine maker Eve Matthews will lead everyone in a reflection of the day. 

The beautiful Gallery space will be available throughout the day for chatting, taking time out and pop-up creative activities. Short comfort breaks are part of the programme and soft drinks will be available throughout the day too.
